Looking for a YearCheer Alternative?

So, YearCheer is closing.

If you’re here, you probably already know that, and you’re probably a little sad about it.

I am, too. I’ve followed them for years, partly because we do a similar thing and partly because they did it really well. Getting a box in the mail that turns a Tuesday into a holiday is a specific kind of magic, and they made a lot of people feel it. I left a comment on their post and meant every word.

A bunch of their people have been asking where to go now. So, I figured I’d just answer that here as plainly as I can, instead of making anyone dig through my website.

If you’re searching for a YearCheer alternative, this is the post.

What’s the same

The part you’re going to miss is the part we do, too: a box shows up at your door before each holiday with everything for the table. Plates, napkins, a banner, something for the kids to do, and usually one little thing that makes the whole table feel finished. You don’t shop. You don’t plan. You open it the night before and set it out.

That’s the whole idea of the Moment & Co holiday party box. It started because I was the mom who wanted the kids’ table to look like someone cared, and I never had time to make that happen until the morning of.

Three Moment & Co holiday party boxes opened to show the July 4th, Halloween, and Thanksgiving subscription box contents
July, October, November. Same box, different holiday.

Christmas is next, and if you’re coming over now, that’s the first one you’d get.

How the holiday subscription works

Three ways to do it, and you can switch.

Single Celebration

One box, no subscription, if you want to try it first. It’s $68.

Pay Per Holiday

The holiday subscription. A box before each holiday at $55, you’re charged when it ships, and you can skip any holiday you don’t need. This is the one most people pick.

VIP Annual Pass

The whole year up front, every holiday, at the best price per box. It’s the one grandparents buy, because it’s a gift that shows up six times.

Boxes ship about three weeks before each holiday, so you have it in time to set up and not so early that it lives in the closet.

A YearCheer alternative, if you want one

Use the code UNBOX20 at checkout for 20% off your first box, whether you subscribe or just want to try one. I set that up for you, and it’s good through the end of the year.

And I’d really love to know what you loved most about their holiday subscription boxes. Not in a marketing way. I’m building these one holiday at a time and the people who’ve been getting a holiday box for years know what works better than I do. Email me, DM me, comment, whatever’s easiest.

A few questions I’ve gotten this week

Is Moment & Co the same as YearCheer?

No, Moment & Co is not exactly the same as YearCheer. We’re a separate company, and we’re not connected to them in any way. We just offer a similar thing, which is why I wrote this.

When does the next holiday subscription box ship?

At the time of this writing, we're on our Thanksgiving Box, and that starts shipping in November. Christmas ships the first week of December. If you subscribe before November, you'll get the Thanksgiving Box. And if you subscribe before December, you'll get the Christmas Box.

Can I buy one box without subscribing?

Yes. Single Celebration is one box. No commitment, and the code works on it, too.

That’s it. I’m sorry your box is going away. I hope ours can be the next one you look forward to.
