A white square placemat, 15.5" across, with a plain circle at the center and rays pressed into the paper out to a zigzag edge, every few of them in gold foil. Set a white dinner plate on the circle and the gold starburst placemat does the work of a charger, which is the whole reason to buy paper placemats instead of renting the real thing. These go under New Year’s Eve dinner, a wedding rehearsal, a bridal shower brunch, or a Christmas table that’s going gold instead of red, and the pack of 12 covers a long table in one go. The paper is thick enough to stay flat under a full plate and glassware, and after dessert they go in the recycling.
